BrandMaster/BrandMeister is an operating software for Master servers participating in a worldwide infrastructure network of amateur radio digital voice systems. If you are an amateur radio operator working in digital voice modes like D-Star, DMR, C4FM, APCO P25 or others (not all are supported yet!!).
As you may know, hotspots connecting to a BrandMeister master server using homebrew or MMDVM protocol require a password to connect. Currently most of you use the “master server password” which is typically published on the corresponding country’s BrandMeister wiki page.

Login to your BrandMeister Selfcare.
On the top right, click on your Callsign.
Click on the “SelfCare” option.
At the bottom of the page, check the box “Hotspot Security”
A password box will appear. Enter your personalized hotspot password and click “Save”.

Do I need a DMR hotspot?
You would use a hotspot when you either don’t have a DMR repeater nearby, or simply don’t want to tie it up for any length of time. Many hotspots are capable of multiple modes as well, such as D-Star, P25, DMR+, YSF and NXDN… but we are only going to talk about DMR here.
